Valkenburg aan de Geul

The bustling heart of Valkenburg aan de Geul is just a kilometer walk from the Cauberg. This charming town is known for its unique marl caves, the historic castle ruins and the cable car that offers beautiful panoramic views. Whether you are looking for relaxation in the thermal baths of Thermae 2000, a pleasant evening in the Holland Casino or a terrace in the lively center; the Burgundian holiday atmosphere can be felt everywhere here.

Valkenburg is an absolute place of pilgrimage for cycling enthusiasts. As a guest of the camper park you will be right at the foot of the iconic Cauberg, the most famous climb of the Amstel Gold Race. You can easily roll down the hill to the center or start immediately on one of the many signposted routes through the Heuvelland. This unique combination of top sports history and tourist attractions makes Valkenburg a versatile top destination.

Maastricht

Maastricht is one of the oldest and most atmospheric cities in the Netherlands, where the rich history merges with a modern, Burgundian lifestyle. The heart of the city is formed by the iconic Vrijthof and the characteristic streets of the Stokstraatkwartier, full of exclusive boutiques and excellent gastronomy. Whether you come for the impressive architecture of the Basilica of St. Servatius or a unique visit to the bookstore in the centuries-old Dominican Church, the city exudes an almost un-Dutch, international allure.

For those looking for nature and adventure, the Sint-Pietersberg and the underground tunnels of the caves offer a beautiful contrast with the lively city center. Here you can enjoy sweeping views over the Maas Valley or delve deep into the history of the casemates. The city is approximately a 15-minute drive away and is also easily accessible by public transport, which makes a visit to this versatile destination particularly easy.

Limburgs Heuvelland en omgeving

The Limburgse Heuvelland is a unique part of the Netherlands known for its rolling hills, lush green valleys and characteristic villages with half-timbered houses. The area is a true paradise for sports enthusiasts; Whether you brave the challenging cycling routes of the Amstel Gold Race or opt for a relaxing walk on the sunken roads, the views over the vineyards and orchards are equally spectacular everywhere. Along the way, the countless terraces invite you to enjoy local specialties in a casual, Burgundian atmosphere.

Thanks to its central location, the region is the perfect base for a cross-border trip. In no time you will be at the Drielandenpunt in Vaals, the highest point in the Netherlands, where the borders of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet. For a touch of international culture, the historic imperial city of Aachen, with its impressive cathedral, and the bustling city of Liège, known for its authentic markets and Walloon charm, are within easy reach.
